(01)Services

Services

MMITC works with industrial and investment projects in metals, mining and raw-material industries. We assess project economics, develop industry strategies and study markets — drawing on industry data, fieldwork and direct access to market participants across the region.

The engagement format, scope and timelines are defined for each specific assignment.

We analyze markets and evaluate projects. We do not act as an intermediary in transactions, do not represent suppliers' interests and receive no fees from market participants — this is what keeps our analysis objective.

(02)Trade Analytics

Trade analytics across product types

Imports and exports broken down by company, country and HS code — cleaned, normalized and refined to a quality that allows analytics to be built for management conclusions and decisions.

We do not sell raw, unprocessed data sets. High-quality data processing is a skill in its own right: we know the pitfalls and nuances of working with customs statistics.

We turn customs data into a working tool: we remove duplicate importers and exporters, handle technical operations, align product dimensions, bring prices to a comparable basis accounting for delivery terms, and answer specific business questions — who supplies what, in what volume, at what price and to where.

Our data lets you track pricing, estimate logistics costs and identify narrow niche products for which ready-made statistics and price indices are often unavailable.

The questions our trade-analytics tools answer

01

Who controls the market

The key players, their volumes and shares, and how the balance of power shifts over time.

02

What prices competitors trade at

Real $/t levels by importer, country of origin and product group.

03

How the import structure is changing

Shifts in flows between countries and producers, the arrival of new entrants, and incumbents losing ground.

04

Where growth and price pressure lie

Segments with growing volumes and segments where margins are compressing.

What we do with the data

Between raw customs statistics and finished analytics lie mandatory stages of cleaning, processing and validation. The depth of processing and the final output format depend on the specific task and the client's requirements — we can deliver anything from pre-processing to building the final dashboards and regular reports.

  • Removing duplicate companies: different spellings, legal entities and branches are consolidated into a single player
  • Bringing delivery terms to a common basis (FOB / CFR / DAP)
  • Currency adjustments and recalculation of average prices
  • Checking mirror and direct flows
  • Excluding transit and technical operations

Without this stage, conclusions about market shares and price levels are distorted. This is exactly where the line runs between a raw data export and analytics fit for decision-making

Depth of data detail (using metal products as an example)

Rebar

Steel grade · Diameter · GOST / standard

Pipes

Diameter (small / medium / large) · Wall thickness · Production method · Application

Rolled products

Dimensions · Profile type · Surface · Production standard

Depth of information detail, using metal products as an example

Detail for any product type can be prepared at the client's request. The level of detail depends on the quality of the available source data and on the required depth of analysis.

MMITC advises the client while preparing information or regular reporting tailored to their needs. In doing so, we aim to make the fullest use of the available data and to extract the maximum from it for the client's specific task.

(03)How we work

How we work

Every project begins with a question that needs answering and ends with a decision you can defend

Every project starts from the client's initial vision and the problem to be solved. Before a research or market-analysis project begins, we clarify the task and the client's expectations; after a preliminary review we discuss the quality of the source data and its limitations.

During the project, regular status (progress) tracking is available. The final outcome is the formulation of hypotheses, or the confirmation (or rejection) of the client's hypotheses, together with a reasoned evidence base for the results obtained.

A distinct competency is our skill in organizing and running fieldwork, including by the mystery-shopping methodology — an area in which the firm has built broad expertise.

We work inside these markets

In Central Asia, the South Caucasus and adjacent markets, market data is rarely complete and almost never current. We work in the region, not about it: an office in Tashkent, projects with regional producers, and research in markets that are hard to reach remotely.
